Charlotte Continues to Shine

A BARNSTORMING first month back at the University of Cleveland in Ohio augurs well for Charlotte Gibbons, the 20 year-old tennis player sponsored by Dalepak.

Charlotte has been spreading her wings for the last two years and is now starting her third academic year in America. This however, looks like being her best to date.

For after winning seven of her eight challenge matches to date against her fellow squad mates to realise her ambition of being No.1 player in the Cleveland rankings, she then notched a singles and doubles success in her first match against another university, away in Detroit.

While Cleveland will not begin their official Conference programme until January, it was quickly pointed out by her father Brian that there is no such thing as ‘friendly’ matches!

Charlotte, who has now enjoyed Dalepak backing for the last four years, is now hoping the university captaincy of the eight strong squad which includes American, Canadian and a Danish player, will follow.

Said Gibbons: “I see it as a bit of reward for all the hard fitness work in the gym for the last few weeks before I returned to the States in August.”
